Nirjala Ekadashi - Powerful Jal Daan
About This Event
Nirjala Ekadashi is the most significant and powerful of all 24 Ekadashis. 'Nirjala' means without water, as the traditional fast on this day is observed without consuming even a drop of water. Because of its severity, it provides the benefits of all other Ekadashis combined. For this reason, 'Jal Daan' (water donation) on this day is considered the highest form of merit. As the peak of summer approaches, the thirsty cry out for relief. Karamsthali NGO launches its largest annual water initiative on Nirjala Ekadashi, setting up drinking stations and distributing cooling refreshments to thousands.
